The legacy story

Growing up, I watched my family volunteer countless hours; from church programs to aviation, theater to marching band, my family instilled in us a sense of giving back to the communities that gave us so much. Years later, when I got a call from a former band director asking me to help move a trailer for the marching band, I didn’t hesitate. Little did I know where that would lead. Marching band had changed since my time into a much bigger production. That "production" also changed the logistics of equipment transportation. Gone were the days of one rental box truck or bumper pull trailer to hold percussion frontline equipment. Now it truly is a production just to transport the band. I have experience sourcing materials, building and/or acquiring props, coordinating the prop crew, and finally building custom semi trailers to help programs safely and efficiently travel to competitions.

One thing I strongly believe, and tell parents all the time, is that directors, staff, and coaches are here for the kids, that's their job. Anything I can do with my skill set to lower their stress on other facets of the program will enhance the student experience. Enhancing the student experience is always the primary goal and focus to keep in mind when figuring out the challenges that come with transporting uniforms, instruments, and props along with working with the prop crew. The trailers I've built have become a visual representation of my desire to give back to the community.

After years of brainstorming, I decided to take the leap and see if I could help other programs in the same way. Could I get this same feeling of fulfillment while working with other bands? I am pleased to say that the answer is yes and Legacy Trailer Solutions was born. By bringing my background in logistics to band directors, booster clubs, and parent volunteers, I am continuing to give back to communities across the country.
